Professor Jimmy Wilson Named Gamma Theta Upsilon Regional Councilor
Dr. Wilson has been named the East Lakes Regional Councilor for Gamma Theta Upsilon, the national honorary for geography sponsored by the Association of American Geographers.
Wilson has worked hard to promoted Geography at ONU, and offers courses in Geographic Information Systems for students in HPJ, as well as offering courses to Marketing, Criminal Justice, and Engineering majors. A hallmark of Wilson't courses is that he takes his students out into the field, where geography can be found. Over the years, his students have created 3D models of campus buildings, mapped tree and emergency communication locations on campus, and collected local history stories concerning the development of Ada.
The theoretical background and skills that students learn in these classes can help them secure meaningful careers after graduation and increase their marketability. His hard work in supporting the Geography minors was what GTU has recognized by bringing Wilson aboard.

Congratulations Dr. Wilson!
